Temple Run at Swayambhu
A total of 300 people participated in the Swayambhu Temple Run race organised at Swayambhu on Saturday.
The race was co-organised by Nepal Share (Nyano Sansar) and Trail Running Nepal, in association with the Federation of Swayambhu Management and Conservation.
The event was organised with the intention of inspiring people—who live in a valley enveloped in dust—to lead a healthier life.
The organisers also aimed on bringing to light Nyano Sansar’s winter initiative through which they have been helping to bring warmth to the vulnerable denizens of the Tarai region.
The participants had collected Rs 500 each from 10 people. Mira Rai, Deepa Rai and Tenisha Tamang were the top three runners in the women’s category, completing the race in 3:48, 4:32 and 4:35 minutes respectively. Surendra Thapa Magar, Bhim Gurung and Damodar Buddha Magar were the top runners in the men’s category. They covered the length in 2:37, 2:38 and 2:41 minutes respectively.
The participants walked down from the other side of the hill after racing.
