Riding for humanity
Karna Group of Hotels and Resorts (KGH), in association with the World Cyclist Foundation Nepal, has planned a charity cycle rally this Saturday
riding from the Patan Durbar
Square to the Park Village Resort in Budhanilkantha, with funds collected set to be handed over to the Kutidanda Secondary School in Dolakha, where it will be used for development of infrastructure within the institution.
“Education is the single-most important sector when it comes to securing a good future for our children,” Anish Shakya, KGH's coordinator, said at a press meet held at the Ne' Brasserie in Narayan Chowk on Wednesday. “We hope that through this event and others like it, we're soon able to support different social initiatives that are geared at helping women and children around the country.
The rally, under the theme 'Let's ride for humanity', will be led by world cyclist and Everest summiteer Pushkar Shah, and will see around 300 riders, organisers have said. At the end of the route at the Park Village Resort, guests will be treated to live music by Jyovan Bhuju, alongside getting a chance to win prizes, among which is an air ticket to Bangkok.
The rally begins at 8 am, and application fees are Rs 1,500 (comes with a bicycle) and Rs 1,000 per person.
