Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) candidate Rubina Acharya has been elected from Morang-6, securing 55,513 votes and defeating Nepali Congress leader Shekhar Koirala by a wide margin.
Koirala received 12,850 votes, while CPN-UML’s Binod Prasad Dhakal trailed with 8,317 votes. Matrika Paudel of the Shram Sanskriti Party came fourth with 3,400 votes.
In Morang-4, RSP’s Santosh Rajbanshi also claimed victory, winning 40,833 votes against Nepali Congress general secretary Guru Ghimire, who secured 12,818 votes.
