One shot dead in Sunsari

A 45-year-old man was killed after unidentified individuals opened fire in Koshi Rural Municipality, Sunsari, in the early hours of Thursday.
The victim, Bijay Sah of ward 1, was shot around 1am at Puri Tole in Laukahi, near the Armed Police Force border outpost.
Following the killing, locals staged protests demanding an impartial investigation, action against those responsible, and compensation for Sah’s family, local journalist Pawan Rauniyar said.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Chandra Bahadur Khadka of the District Police Office, Sunsari, said discussions are ongoing between the administration and the victim’s family. Police recovered two bullet shells from the scene, and further investigation is underway.
