Police recover 1,120 kg marijuana concealed beneath sand at Katana River
Police say the contraband was buried in sand along the border of wards 5 and 6 of Harinagar Rural Municipality.

Police in Sunsari district have recovered a large quantity of marijuana hidden under sand at the Katana River along the border of wards 5 and 6 of Harinagar Rural Municipality.
Acting on a tip-off, police recovered 1,120 kilograms of marijuana buried in the sand late Tuesday night. A total of 38 sacks of marijuana were found concealed beneath the sand.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Yogaraj Khatiwada said the recovered marijuana has been brought to the Sunsari District Police Office for further investigation.
The district police office said further investigation into the incident is underway.
