Police have arrested a murder convict who had been on the run for 20 years.
A team led by Police Inspector Deu Prasad Limbu arrested 51-year-old Chaturman Tamang on Wednesday acting on a tip-off.
Tamang had killed 36-year-old Parshuram Bishwakarma of Jarayotar in ward 4 of Arun Rural Municipality of Bhojpur, on April 4, 2005. Though he absconded after the crime, the Sankhuwasabha District Court sentenced him to 20 years in prison on November 3, 2010.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Daksha Kumar Basnet said Tamang has been sent to prison to serve his sentence.
