A fugitive convicted of murder and evading arrest for 14 years has been arrested in Khotang.
Chitra Kumar Rai, 41, of ward 11 of Halesi Tuwachung Municipality, was arrested on Sunday and sent to prison on Monday to serve his 10-year sentence.
Police Inspector Mohan Pokhreli, spokesperson for the District Police Office, Khotang, said the Udayapur District Court had sentenced Rai to 10 years in prison on July 11, 2010.
Rai was apprehended at his residence on Sunday afternoon and presented before the Khotang District Court the following day.
