Two women killed in Rolpa landslide

Two women were killed and a man injured after a landslide buried them while they were grazing livestock in Rolpa district on Saturday afternoon.
The incident occurred at Dhawang Lek in Sunchhahari Rural Municipality-1, where a landslide suddenly swept down from a hillside onto a group of herders, according to police.
The deceased have been identified as 51-year-old Asauji Gharti Magar and 36-year-old Amara Gharti Magar, both local residents. They died at the scene.
With the help of local residents, police recovered the bodies from the landslide site later in the evening.
A 60-year-old man, Kule Gharti Magar, was injured in the incident. Panch Kumar Bakhu, chief of the District Police Office, Rolpa, said he sustained injuries to various parts of his body and is in a moderate condition. He has been taken to the Seram Health Post for treatment.
Police said four goats and two cows were also buried in the landslide. The animals have been recovered, while search and rescue efforts are continuing for other missing livestock.
