A 25-year-old man from Khotang district died on Wednesday morning while undergoing treatment after being hit by a vehicle in Hyderabad, India.

The deceased, identified as Tilak Pariyar of Bhadare in Khotehang Rural Municipality-7, Khotang Bazaar, succumbed to his injuries at Gandhi Medical College and Hospital in Secunderabad. He had been receiving treatment there since March 20, the day he met with the accident.

According to relatives, Pariyar was hit by a vehicle while attempting to cross a road. He had arrived in Hyderabad only a day prior to the accident, on March 19, in search of employment.

Shiva Phuyal, the ward chair of Khotehang-7, stated that Pariyar had recently served as election police during the March 5 elections. Shortly after completing his election duties and returning home, he left for India on March 16 alongside two others to find work.

Phuyal added that it remains uncertain whether the body will be brought back to Nepal or cremated in India, as the victim’s relatives are also currently in India.
