Mohan Acharya of the Nepali Congress has been elected to the House of Representatives from Rasuwa in the March 5 election, defeating Basant Bhatta of the Rastriya Swatantra Party by a margin of 5,085 votes.
Acharya secured 10,656 votes, while Bhatta received 5,571 votes.
With this, the Nepali Congress has won three seats under the first-past-the-post category. The party has maintained a lead in 14 constituencies nationwide.
