Gen Z group demands resignation of CIAA chief Rai
Accuses anti-graft body of failing to curb corruption and political influence.
Post Report
A group of Gen Z youth has demanded the resignation of Chief Commissioner Prem Kumar Rai and other commissioners of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority, saying the anti-graft body has failed to tackle corruption and political interference.
Members of the Gen Z Movement Alliance reached the CIAA office in Tangal on Tuesday and handed a letter to Rai, calling for a public hearing of all commissioners and their dismissal if found unfit to serve.
The group also urged the commission to investigate the assets of individuals linked to political parties and the bureaucracy and to nationalise their property if they are found guilty of corruption.
They asked the CIAA to complete, within 90 days, a public audit of the assets and income sources of all party leaders, former federal and provincial ministers, the Speaker and Chairperson of the National Assembly, Supreme Court Justices, secretaries, senior officials, and their families.
