A six-year-old boy drowned in a stream at Tulsipur Sub-Metropolitan City-11, Sukoura, Dang, on Friday evening.
The victim, identified as Ramesh Chaudhary, had gone to bathe in the nearby Dure Khola when the incident occurred.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Anil Thakuri, chief of the Tulsipur Area Police Office, confirmed the news and added that the boy was rescued from the water and taken to Rapti Provincial Hospital in Tulsipur, where he was pronounced dead during treatment.
Police are investigating for further details, Thakuri said.
