Police arrested three individuals on Saturday night in Gadhwa Rural Municipality, Dang, for illegal possession of a Bengal tiger hide.
Acting on a tip-off, a team led by Inspector Roshanraj Pandey from the Lamahi Area Police Office raided a house in Khawari village, Ward 6, and apprehended Vikram Budhamagar (41) along with Keshavraj Sen Thakuri (53) of Rajpur and Anil Tharu (33) of Bardiya.
The officers discovered the hide—measuring 9 feet 2 inches in length and 3 feet 2 inches in width—hidden on the upper floor of Budhamagar’s residence.
District police spokesperson DSP Chakrabahadur Shah confirmed that all three are in custody and a detailed investigation is underway.
