A man was injured in a shooting near the Nepal-India border at Gulariya-8 in Bardiya on Sunday night.

According to Superintendent of Police Kedar Khanal, the man was working in a field around 7 pm when he was shot, reportedly by someone from the Indian side. The case was reported to the police around 8 pm.

The victim was initially treated at the district hospital in Gulariya but was later transferred to Kohalpur Teaching Hospital due to the severity of his injuries, Khanal said.

The identity of the shooter is still under investigation. However, the injured man claimed that an Indian forest officer fired the shot. Police confirmed that shrapnel from the bullet hit his back, and further investigation is ongoing.
