Visiting CPPCC Vice-chair Bater calls on Prime Minister Dahal
Chinese leader says his country places great importance on its relations with Nepal.Post Report
Vice-chairperson of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference Bater called on Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Sunday.
According to the prime minister’s secretariat, they discussed bilateral relations, mutual cooperation, and the implementation of various agreements signed between the two countries during the meeting in Singha Durbar.
Prime Minister Dahal reportedly thanked the Chinese government for bringing 14 entry points along the Nepal-China border into operation.
Prime Minister Dahal also expressed his hope that other agreements signed between the two countries would be implemented gradually. According to the prime minister’s secretariat, they also discussed ways to expand and continue the exchange of legislative practices between China and Nepal in the future.
Bater was quoted as saying that China attaches high importance to its relations with Nepal and assuring that the ties will be strengthened in the coming days.
Bater arrived in Kathmandu on Friday on a four-day official visit. According to the CPPCC website, he is a member of the 20th CPC Central Committee and vice-chairperson of the 14th CPPCC National Committee.
The CPPCC is the top political advisory body to the Chinese government as well as the Chinese Communist Party.
Bater is also scheduled to meet Vice President Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav and other senior government officials.
