Organisation of Women Scientist in Nepal concluded its 4th annual general meeting in Kathmandu on Saturday.
OWSN is a Nepal chapter of the Organisation for Women in Science for the Developing World, under UNESCO.
The goal of the OWSN is to promote women’s access to science and technology, and increase their participation in decision-making processes for the development of the country and in the international scientific community, the organisation said in a statement.
In the past four years after its establishment, Owsn has worked to improve science practical education in Nepali schools/universities, created STEM mentorship/opportunities for females and built awareness of the facilities available for scholarships/funding for higher studies by experience sharing from past awardees of different fellowships, according to the statement.
The organisation further said it also worked to bring women and girls role models in front of society and to provide feedback for improving our internal system related to scientific education and research in Nepal.
