Police arrested three people on charge of bribery on Tuesday.
The trio—road development project manager Hutraj Chauhan, engineer Rabindra Kumar Sharma, and accountant Himal Paudel—employees of the Project Implementation Unit in Jhapa, were arrested by a team of Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) officers from Tangal and Itahari, from the Jhapa-based office premises with the bribe.
The accused had allegedly taken a bribe of Rs400,000 from various service seekers on the pretext of easing the facilitation of the final bill payment for road construction works, said police.
