A man died and five others were injured after a pickup van met with an accident in Phidim Municipality-10 along the Phidim-Yangnam Phalaut road section in Panchthar district on Sunday.

According to Panchthar District Police Office, the 30-year-man from Phalelung Rural Municipality-8 died on the spot in the mishap that happened at 8am today.

The van was heading to Phidim from ward 8 of the rural municipality.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Hari Khatiwada said three people seriously injured in the accident have been sent to Jhapa after initial treatment at Panchthar Hospital.
