Foreign Secretary of Nepal Bharat Raj Paudyal called on Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang at the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Beijing on Thursday.
The Embassy of Nepal in Beijing said that the two sides discussed matters related to the strengthening of bilateral relations and cooperation between the two nations.
“Since Nepal and China are close neighbours, we expect support from our northern neighbour towards our newly formed government,” Paudyal said.
Other topics such as the exchange of visits, development cooperation, trade, investment and tourism were also discussed, the embassy said in a statement.
Nepal’s Ambassador to China Bishnu Pukar Shrestha, Joint Secretary of Foreign Affairs Lok Bahadur Thapa, and other senior foreign ministry officials of both countries were present during the meeting.
Paudyal leads the Nepali delegation to the 15th meeting of the Bilateral Diplomatic Consultation Mechanism between the foreign ministers of the two countries scheduled for Friday.
