Kantipur Television to launch IPO soon

Kantipur Television Network Limited on Thursday announced issuing an initial public offering (IPO) worth Rs75 million with added premium to the shares.
Kailash Sirohiya, chairman and managing director of KTV Network Limited, announced on Thursday that the IPO would be issued soon.
Sirohiya and Bhism Raj Chalise, chief executive officer of Sanima Capital, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations at a function organised in Kathmandu to mark the television’s 19th anniversary.
Kantipur Television has appointed Sanima Capital as its issue manager.
Chalise said that the premium will be announced after the annual general meeting of the KTV Network Limited in the next fiscal year, beginning mid-July.
At Thursday’s function, Shishir Pachhai, CEO of KTV Network Limited, said there are challenges ahead but the organisation is committed to working to overcome those.
Dil Bhusan Pathak, editor-in-chief of KTV Network, noted that television consumption behavior in the audience has changed.
Established in July 2003, Kantipur Television is Nepal’s first privately owned television channel to offer a wide range of content via terrestrial stations and satellites.
The television started with a seven-hour regional broadcast for Kathmandu Valley and quickly became one of Nepal’s leading and most popular TV channels.
