Vote counting over in Mustang
UML wins in four local units, Congress one.Post Report
The CPN-UML has won in four out of five rural municipalities in Mustang while the Nepali Congress has won in one municipality.
In Lomanthang, UML candidate Tarsinarbu Gurung obtained 668 votes to win the post of chair. Likewise, Chhyumi Bista of the same party won the vice-chair post securing 632 votes, according to the election officer.
In Varagung Mukti Chhetra, UML’a Rinjing Namgel Gurung and Dhiki Gurung have been elected chairperson and vice-chair, garnering 867 votes and 749 votes, respectively.
In Thasang, UML’s Pradip Gauchan was elected as a chairperson while Nepali Congress’ Somal Hirachan was elected as vice-chair obtaining 1,144 and 1,112 votes, respectively.
Similarly, in Lo-Ghekar Damodar Kunda, UML’s Lopsang Chhompel Bista and Chhiring Lhamo Gurung were elected as chairperson and vice-chair, securing 689 and 641 votes, respectively.
However, in Gharpajhong, Nepali Congress’ Mohan Singh Lalchan and Jamuna Thapa Magar were elected chair and vice-chair, obtaining 760 and 693 votes, respectively.
