The government on Tuesday appointed Sarbendra Khanal as the Inspector General (IG) of Nepal Police and Sailendra Khanal as the Chief of Armed Police Force (APF).
A Cabinet meeting held this evening appointed Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Sarbendra Khanal to the post of IG.
Along with Sarbendra Khanal, Ramesh Kharel and Puskar Raj Karki were also in the IG race.
Similarly, Pushpa Ram KC was also in the race of the paramilitary force chief.
Prior to the Cabinet meeting, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had held consultation with CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa about the appointment of IG of two security agencies.
