A student appearing in Secondary Education Examination (SEE) has been found dead at Babiyachaur in West Surkhet. Gaurikala Rokaya, 18, of Panchapuri Municipality-3, was found dead with injuries in left side of the body and leg in her rented room at Babiyachaur on Tuesday morning.

The incident came to light after the neighbours informed the police as her room’s door was not opened until late in the morning.

Preliminary investigation of police has suspected it as a murder. “The body was found lying on the bed with injuries,” said SP Uma Prasad Chaturbedi, “She could have been beaten outside and left inside the room.”

He said the police have been seriously investigating the incident. He said the investigation will become easier after the post-mortem report comes. Four youths have been arrested for their alleged involvement in the murder. Family of the deceased said the incident was a murder and put pressure on the police to take action against the guilty.
