Leader Bhattarai said that it would be better for the leaders of two communist parties to resign from politics and go to lecture on peace process in international universities. “The leaders of two parties should resign from active politics that would make them respectable in the world like Nelson Mandela.”
He added that along with Oli and Dahal, senior leaders Madhav Kumar Nepal, Jhala Nath Khanal, and Bam Dev Gautam have scored 100 percent in politics. “They can go to teach in Harvard and Oxford universities,” he said, speaking at a programme organised by CPN-UML in Kathmandu.
He claimed that there are no doubts regarding the unification of CPN-UML and CPN (Maoist Centre).
He lashed out at the Nepali Congress for its reluctance to step down from power even after the losing in elections. “In countries like Britain and India, the ruling parties resign from the government after losing the elections,” said the UML leader. He said that political morality is above rule and law. “But our Prime Minister is clinging to power in a shameless manner,” he added.
In a different context, he expressed his reservations with the work of Election Commission and advised that the EC should work conscientiously.
