Nepali Congress (NC) candidate Gagan Thapa has been elected to federal parliament from Kathmandu Constitutency-4. He defeated left alliance candidate Rajan Bhattarai by a margin of 3418 votes.
Thapa bagged 21558 votes, and his closest rival CPN-UML's Bhattarai totaled 18140 votes, while Bibeksheel Sajha Party's Subuna Basnet secured 3040 votes.
