Sanghiya Samajbadi Forum candidate from Gorkha district constituency-2, Sukdev Tamang, has withdrawn his candidacy to support Naya Shakti Nepal leader Baburam Bhattarai. Former Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai is the candidate of Naya Shakti and Nepali Congress (NC) alliance.

Likewise, Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP)-Democratic candidate Rudra Raj Pandey has also withdrawn candidacy in Gorkha Constituency-2 (Ka), Election Officer Ek Narayan Lamsal said. Pandey will support Naya Shakti candidate in the constituency, Hari Sharan Acharya.     

After the withdrawal of candidacy, four parties including NC and Naya shakti have forged electoral alliance. Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has also decided to support candidature of Bhattarai.

In the local level elections, Naya Shakti had contested the elections under the symbol of torch. It is estimated that Samajbadi Forum has over 500 votes in Gorkha-2 and similarly RPP-Democratic has over 500 votes in Province (Ka).

Leftist alliance has fielded CPN (Maoist Centre) leaders Narayan Kaji Shrestha and Kamala Naharki to contest the federal and provincial elections.
