At a press meet held at the Gorkha district headquarters on Wednesday, the former prime minister said, "The country will see political stability for at least five years provided that the constitutional provision for a directly elected executive head is ensured through a political consent."
Stating that the Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and Madhes-centric parties were also in consensus regarding directly elected executive head during the first Constituent Assembly (CA) election, he said such system was necessary to end the compulsion of expanding the Cabinet time and again just to lengthen the government tenure and the trend of government change in every nine months.
“Time has come to make people aware of benefits of directly elected governance system which is itself in the welfare of the nation and citizens and is capable of controlling foreign interference in domestic affairs."
Likewise Chairman Dahal took the time to underline the need of unity among all Maoist forces and inform that the party would have an electoral alliance during the elections of House of Representatives and State Assemblies as per the demand of time.
Similarly, the CPN (MC) Chairman made it clear that the incumbent government led by Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba would conduct the both elections, refuting the possibility of formation of a new coalition government of the party and CPN-UML as rumoured. RSS
