Dev Kumar Sada, uncle of 8-year-old flood victim Kamal Sada, guided the mortal remains of the boy in the Koshi River at Kulari Village in Saptari district on Sunday.
The photo agency said, Kamal died due sickness from continuous exposure to rainfall and flooding at his remote village.
In the culture of the people that inhabit the region, when boy dies the body is supposed to be buried, yet since all the land in their village is flooded and water logged, the family members decided to leave Kamal's body in the Koshi River.
