Hindu devotees have thronged Pashupatinath Temple in Kathmandu from early in the morning today to offer their worship on the first Monday of the holy month of Shrawan in Nepali calendar.
The entire month is considered to auspicious for worship Lord Shiva and pray for health, happiness and good fortune. Devotees visit Shiva temples on Mondays during the month.
Devotees were seen queuing up to offer worships and prayers to Lord Shiva from 2 am although the three doors of the temple were open at around 3:15 am, said
Director of the Pashupati Area Development Trust Bhola Sitaula.
More than 35,000 devotees worshipped at the temple until 8 am this monring, he added.
Meanwhile, Chief Justice-nominate Gopal Parajuli also worshipped at the temple today.
