CPN-UML has bagged mayor and deputy mayor posts in Ghorahi Sub-Metropolitan City of Dang district on Monday.
Narulal Chaudhary defeated Nepali Congress (NC)’s candidate Bhup Bahadur Dangi to become mayor of the sub-metropolitan city.
Chaudhary secured 22,030 votes while Dangi obtained 17,484 votes.
Similarly, UML’s Sita Neupane has been elected deputy mayor of the sub-metropolitan city. She mustered 20792 votes.
Neupane defeated NC’s Pushpa Shrestha to become deputy mayor. Shrestha garnered 17, 603 votes.
