Bharatpur NC cadres protest central decision to forge electoral alliance with Maoist Centre

The NC cadres staged demonstration in front of the district party office on Thursday following the party central office’s decision to support Maoist Centre make its mayor candidate victorious in the local level elections.
They also chanted slogans against party President Sher Bahadur Deuba.
The NC cadres, who were engaged in the election campaign, had also reached the central party office and chanted slogans against Deuba for taking wrong decision.
The NC had decided to help Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s daughter Renu Dahal, who had registered her nomination for the post of mayor in the local level elections, victorious.
Dinesh Koirala, a NC candidate for the post of mayor, however, is busy in the election campaign.
According to NC lawmaker Ram Krishna Ghimire, the party should not have forged electoral alliance with the Maoist Centre as the NC has its stronghold in Bharatpur Metropolitan City.
Speaking at a press conference organised with an objective to inform about the NC’s nomination on Thursday morning, district party Vice-President Kailash Koirala said that the electoral alliance between NC and Maoist Centre was just a rumour and urged the party cadres not to run after it.
