Speaking at a press conference organised at the party office in Tinkune of the Capital on Wednesday, leader Yadav said that the party decided to participate in the elections to safeguard federalism, democracy and other major political achievements made so far.
Earlier on Tuesday, the newly formed RJPN had accused the SSFN of relaxing the protest programmes.
The SSFN Chair clarified that the party had decided to take part in the elections following the government’s commitment to amend the constitution. He further said that the constitution amendment process has already been moved ahead as per the commitment of the government.
He further made it clear that the party had decided to take part in the elections on the basis of an agreement reached with the Sanghiya Gathabandan.
On a different note, Yadav urged the two ruling major parties Nepali Congress and CPN (Maoist Centre) to withdraw the impeachment motion filed against Chief Justice Sushila Karki.
The SSFN Chair said that he had also urged Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal to withdraw the motion registered against Karki.
