Six Madhes-based parties on Thursday announced their unification to form Rastirya Janata Party.

The six parties include Mahantha Thakur-led Tarai Madhes Loktantrik Party, Rajendra Mahato-led Sadbhawana Party, Sharat Singh Bhandari-led Rastriya Madhes Samajbadi Party, Mahendra Yadav-led Tarai Madhes Sadbhawana Party and Rajkishor Yadav-led Madhesi Janadhikar Forum- Ganatantrik and Anil Jha-led Nepal Sadbhawana Party.

Five Madhes-based parties on Thursday announced their unification to form Rastirya Janata Party.

The five parties include Mahantha Thakur-led Tarai Madhes Loktantrik Party, Rajendra Mahato-led Sadbhawana Party, Sharat Singh Bhandari-led Rastriya Madhes Samajbadi Party, Mahendra Yadav-led Tarai Madhes Sadbhawana Party and Rajkishor Yadav-led Madhesi Janadhikar Forum- Ganatantrik.

The unified party has decided to choose ‘umbrella’ as its election symbol.

Though the party had decided to pick Mahanta Thakur as its Chairman, the unified party has decided to form a group committee to run the party following a dispute among the second rung leaders.
