Shakti Samuha, Her Turn, and Women LEAD Nepal were three of the 20 organisations that received the award in London on Wednesday.
The award was handed over by Stars Foundation, a London based charity founded in 2001, to 20 organisations working for gender equality and empowerment from all over the world.
Shakti Samuha, an organisation established by trafficking survivors, supports women and children affected by trafficking in Nepal and provides them with the skills to help them rebuild a dignified life.
Her Turn works to create a safe and protective environment for adolescent girls in the rural Sindhupalchok and Gorkha districts of Nepal to enable them to live their life with dignity and self-esteem.
Likewise, Women LEAD Nepal invests in young women aged 15 to 24 by equipping them with the skills, support and opportunities they need to become leaders and change-makers in their communities and their country. They work to see women and girls leading alongside men.
