RPP-N chair Thapa revives issue of Hindu state
Rastriya Prajantantra Party Nepal Chairman Kamal Thapa has said that if a constitution amendment proposal is tabled in Parliament to address the demands of Madhes-centric parties, the amendment proposition to revoke secularism and reinstate Hindu state should also be presented at the same time.
“Revoking secularism and reinstating Hindu state is our party’s demand. If the amendment proposal is tabled to address the demands of Madhes-centric parties, our proposal should also be tabled together,” Thapa told reporters here on Wednesday.
He also said that though the RPP-N still champions monarchy, the party respects the people’s decision.
Thapa accused that the current ruling coalition, of Nepali Congress (NC) and CPN (Maoist Centre),
was only using the Madhes-based parties.
