Gole Tamang, a villager, said they had to flee to a nearby forest at night.
Police said 105 people have been displaced by the landslide.
“We have shifted the villagers to a local school building and an open area at Langachet,” said Assistant Sub-Inspector Bikram Kumal.
Another villager Baburam Pheuwa said the village was always vulnerable to landslides.
“There used to be frequent landslides around the village during monsoon and winter,” he said. “This time, however, the landslide occurred right above our homes.”
The landslide has left behind large cracks running down the slope for nearly 4 km.
The entire settlement is at risk of getting wiped out, said concerned villagers.
Chief District Officer Bishwo Prakash Subedi said he will soon call a meeting to find a suitable place to relocate the villagers.
