The 160 km Banepa-Sindhuli-Bardibas road links Kathmandu to the eastern Tarai reducing total distance by 150 km i.e. four hours.
The construction of the road that began on 1995 was completed in March 2015 with the grant assistance of Rs 21.5 billion (26 billion Japanese Yen) from the Government of Japan.
The government is hopeful that this road will be an alternate link road, reduce the travel distance and time and stimulate economic and social activities along the highway.
