Continuing its bearish trend, Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) plunged 64.55 points on Sunday too.
Continuing its bearish trend, Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) plunged 64.55 points on Sunday too. With the nosedive in Nepse, the authority enforced circuit breaker for 15 minutes after the index fell 3 percent within first 40 minutes of trading.
The market that resumed operation at 12:01 this noon, however, continued to fall and reached as low as 1,478.55 points in another 18 minutes before it climbed up to 1,515.25 at 12:54 pm. Finally, the market again dropped to close at 1,469.48 points.
The trading amount also declined below Rs1 billion. The market capitalisation has reached Rs 1,634.74 billion, a drop of Rs 71.8 billion in the value of shares.
Only five companies including Green Development Bank, NB Insurance, Oriental Hotels, Ridi Hydropower Development Company and Tinau Development Bank were the gainers. The investors in stocks of remaining 114 listed companies were in loss.
