A landslide triggered by continuous rainfall for two hours has blocked the Rapti Highway near Chorkhola in Kapurkot Rural Municipality on Thursday.
As a result, dozens of passenger vehicles and travellers have been stranded for over an hour.
According to Police Inspector Baburam Basnet, spokesperson for the District Police Office, Salyan, efforts are underway to clear the debris using an excavator.
Travellers have been facing frequent disruptions along the highway section due to landslides even after light rain, as road upgrading is currently underway.
