The death toll in a truck accident in ward 6 of Kapurkot Rural Municipality, Salyan district, has climbed to four as of Tuesday morning.

Police said the 24-year-old driver, Man Bahadur Bhandari, succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at Rapti Provincial Hospital in Dang.

The truck, loaded with paddy and straw, swerved off the road and plunged approximately 150 metres on Monday while en route from Dubedi to Sinabang in ward 6 of Kapurkot.

The other victims were identified as 14-year-old Gobardan Khadka, 13-year-old Srijana Basnet, and Anil Bhandari. Eight others sustained injuries in the accident.

Three individuals—13-year-old Kakhuma Basnet, 35-year-old Nanda Basnet, and 35-year-old Dev Bahadur Basnet—remain in critical condition at a nursing home in Nepalgunj.

Meanwhile, other injured passengers, including Sanjeev Basnet, Khadka, Hikmat Pun, and helper Raunak Bhandari, have been discharged after treatment.
