Yamalal Kandel has been elected as the leader of the CPN-UML provincial assembly party in Karnali.

Kandel, who is a member of the party’s standing committee, was unanimously elected for the post, informed Suryamani Gautam, chief of the UML’s Karnali Province Publicity Department.

Gautam said that the party meeting held on Wednesday elected Kandel for the post of the assembly party leader. Earlier, the party’s provincial committee chair Binod Shah was also a contender for the post.

Kandel had served as the leader in the previous provincial assembly too.
