Swarnim Wagle wins Tanahun-1

Swarnim Wagle of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has been elected from Tanahun-1, securing 38,040 votes. Nepali Congress candidate Govinda Bhattarai received 16,231 votes.
Wagle had also won the by-election in the same constituency in 2023 by a large margin. The by-election was held after then lawmaker Ramchandra Paudel was elected president. In that contest, Wagle defeated Bhattarai by over 15,000 votes.
