A six-year-old boy was killed in a leopard attack in Kuwadi of Bandipur Rural Municipality-2, on Monday evening.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Ashok Thapa, Utsav Gurung, son of Dal Bahadur Gurung, was sitting in the yard of his house around 7:30 pm when the leopard attacked him.
He was critically injured and rushed to Bandipur Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead. Leopard attacks on children have become increasingly common in Tanahun, a hill district of Gandaki Province.
Areas such as Bhanu, Byas, Shuklagandaki, Bandipur and Anbukhaireni have reported frequent incidents of leopard attacks. As many as 14 children were killed by leopards in Tanahun over the past six years.
