Opening-day tickets for 2nd NPL season sold out
Khalti confirms all premium and general tickets for the November 17 opener were snapped up as fan interest remains high for the league’s second edition.Post Report
All tickets for the opening match of the second season of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) have been sold out.
Chhumbi Lama, spokesperson of Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN), said that every ticket for the first day—November 17—was purchased through the Khalti mobile wallet. The second edition of the NPL will run until December 13.
Khalti CEO Binay Khadka also confirmed on Friday that both premium and general tickets had sold out. Compared to the first season, where tickets were sold out within two to three hours, this year’s opening-day tickets took nearly 24 hours to sell—still a sign of sustained enthusiasm for the league, he said.
To handle heavy traffic and demand, Khalti expanded its server capacity.
Khadka noted that the Kirtipur ground is more organised this year, with structured seating arrangements easing ticket management. CAN has allocated around 8,000 tickets to Khalti, while about 2,000 are reserved for players’ families, sponsors and organisers.
General tickets for the opening and Saturday matches are priced at Rs500, with the same rate applying to other league matches. Playoff and final general tickets will cost Rs1,000. Premium tickets are priced at Rs1,500 for the opening and Saturday fixtures, Rs1,000 on other days, and Rs2,000 for the playoffs and final.
