Nepali Congress leader Surendra Raj Acharya has been inducted into the Pushpa Kamal Dahal-led Cabinet on Sunday.
President Ramchandra Paudel administered the oath of office and secrecy to the minister at a function at Sheetal Niwas, the President's Office.
Acharya has been assigned the portfolio of the Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizens.
Mahindra Raya Yadav of the Nepal Samajbadi Party, who was leading the ministry, has been assigned to the Ministry of Water Supply.
Acharya was elected to the House of Representatives from Kapilvastu-2.
Earlier on Wednesday, three Nepali Congress lawmakers—Dhan Raj Gurung, Mohan Bahadur Basnet and Dig Bahadur Limbu—were appointed ministers.
