President Ramchandra Paudel has assigned ministerial portfolios to three newly appointed ministers as recommended by the prime minister on Wednesday.

The President’s office in a statement said the head of state assigned ministerial posts to the lawmakers on the recommendation of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal.

Three Nepali Congress lawmakers Dhan Raj Gurung, Mohan Bahadur Basnet, and Dig Bahadur Limbu were appointed ministers on Wednesday.

NC vice-president Gurung has been appointed as the Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs. Basnet has been given the Ministry of Health and Population, and Limbu will head the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

The Nepali Congress has been allocated eight ministries in the coalition government, out of which three ministries were assigned on Wednesday.
