Veteran comedy artist, writer and director Ram Shekhar Nakarmi passed away at the age of 80 on Monday .

He had been long suffering from cancer and died in course of treatment at the Bhaktapur Cancer Hospital.

Nakarmi, a permanent resident of Inachowk of Bhaktapur Municipality, had been taking shelter at the home for older people after the earthquake in April, 2015 destroyed his house. Nakarmi, also termed as the 'man with multiple talents', spent six decades as a humour and satire script writer and also directed some of his works and acted in them.

He is the script writer of famous Nepal Bhasha (Newari) movie 'Rajamati'.

The teleserial 'Parkhal' had won the 'Third Future of Asia Award' in the international film festival in Japan.

He is survived by his four daughters and four sons. RSS
