President administers oath to newly appointed Chief Justice Shrestha

Newly appointed Chief Justice Bishwambhar Prasad Shrestha took the oath of office and secrecy on Tuesday.
President Ramchandra Paudel administered the oath to Shrestha took amid a ceremony held at Sheetal Niwas, the President’s Office.
The Parliamentary Hearing Committee, chaired by lawmaker Pashupati Shumsher Rana as the senior-most member of the committee, had endorsed Shrestha for the top post of the apex court on Monday.
The Constitutional Council had recommended the name of Shrestha, who is senior most among the Supreme Court justices, to the post earlier this month.
He will lead the apex court for 14 months.
