Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal held talks with his key coalition partner NC’s President Sher Bahadur Deuba and Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Bimalendra Nidhi along with another Deputy PM and Finance Minister Krishna Bahadur Mahara.
The leaders discussed amendment of the constitution among other things, according to former home minister Shakti Basnet. Dahal had held informal talks with the NC President on the charter amendment and also about his scheduled speech in Parliament on Wednesday.
Dahal’s personal secretary Ramesh Malla said Tuesday’s meeting was the preparations for the formal meeting between the two major parties on the amendment proposal.
But the delay in the holding serious discussion on the proposal has irked Madhesi and Janajati forces.
