Hetauda Youth Club ‘A’ sailed into the semi-finals of the seventh Ruslan Simara Gold Cup with a stunning 3-2 victory over top tier Saraswoti Youth Club (SYC) of Kathmandu here on Saturday.
Sunil Bal scored twice and Sunil BK added the other for the winners. African recruit Ale Tararo and Ramesh Ghising netted one goal apiece for SYC. Hetauda coach Subin Ghimire was satisfied with the final outcome. “We managed to play according to our plans. We had few mistakes in our first game and made amends today,” said Ghimire.
Hetauda went ahead in the 34th minute
through a stunning volley from BK. The lead doubled two minutes later when Bal capitalised on SYC defensive lapse to score close from the goal line. But SYC hit back in the first half.
Ale struck in the 38th minute collecting a free kick from Sesang Limbu before firing home. Ghising scored the equaliser in the added on time of the first half. But Hetauda restored their lead in the 48th minute with Bal scoring again. Hetauda then completely dominated the game and created more chances but couldn’t extend the winning margin. On Sunday, Nepal APF Club will take on Rupandehi XI.
